INDIA CAFE BULLETIN UPDATE

ALOHA and Happy New Year!!  I know a lot of you are very busy so I've decided to make getting our India Cafe gourmet curries as easy as possible. We have launched Hawaii's first and only Indian Curry on Wheels, catering the First Annual Bollywood Film Festival, and participating in the 2nd Annual Cool Kailua Nights block party.  Also look for us at the KCC Farmer's market for those of you that like to get up early on Saturday mornings.   I just returned from a fantastic trip with my family to India and Malaysia so you can bet that Ive learned some new dishes and will be adding them to our new menu soon.

Look below for more pictures from our trip.  But first check out the details on the upcoming events!

Feb 2, 2008 4- 9:30 PM  - India Cafe is very proud to participate in COOL KAILUA NIGHTS - India Cafe's Gourmet Curry on Wheels lunchwagon will be serving our delicious curry platters at this second annual block party and Health Awareness Fair in Kailua on Uluniu & Aulike Streets (near Baci Bistro & Assaggio's Restaurant) Saturday, February 2, 2008 • 4 - 9:30 pm.  Proceeds will benefit the nonprofit Castle Medical Center’s Chemotherapy Unit as well as Ho’ola Cancer Exercise Wellness Program.  Castle’s Oncology Clinic provides a variety of outpatient services for patients battling cancer.

Tuesdays and Thursdays - India Cafe Gourmet Curry on Wheels in Kailua: Tuesdays and Thursdays Lunch and Dinner from 11am - 7pm serving Indian cuisine in Kailua town at the Kailua Shell Gas Station corner of Kailua Rd. & Oneawa Street.  Coming over the Pali hwy, you cant miss it!  Menu changes daily serving a variety of meat, seafood, and vegetarian gourmet curry platters from $8-$9.00.  We are currently looking for a few more good locations to bring our cuisine to the people.  Please email me if you have any suggestions.  Places I am already considering: Queens medical center, Downtown, Hawaii Kai, Millilani, Kapolei, and Waikiki.  It truly is a beautiful truck complete with 30 inch flat screen LCD TV showing Bollywood musicals.

Speaking of Bollywood (dont you just love that segway?), we are proud to be a part of the First Annual Bollywood Film Festival to begin this Saturday Jan 26th thru Feb 2 at the Honolulu Academy of Arts, Reception catered by India Cafe.  Indian dinner and snacks served before each film throughout the week by India Cafe.  The Honolulu Academy of Arts is delighted to present the first retrospective of Bollywood films, India’s most famed cinematic genre. More Hollywood than Hollywood, Bollywood films frequently include spicy melodrama, peppered with boisterous comedy, performed by India’s most dazzling actors, who often wear lavish costumes and break into extravagant song and dance numbers in sumptuous settings. Prepare to be astonished by three decades of Bollywood’s best.  Seating is limited so buy your tickets early!  You don't want to get out snaked for your tickets!

Speaking of snakes (I did it again!), Jesiah got to hold a real life boa constrictor while we visited the Snake Temple in Malaysia:

Here is our impression of a Bollywood royal Indian family.  Is that a real tiger?

Jesiah and Baby Jiva really love their pet tiger.  They say our curry is GRRRRRRRRREAT!

Thats all for now.  Ill send out another email next month so look forward to news of our Valentines Day special 4 course menu and more pictures to come!

Mahalo,

Jiva and the entire India Cafe family..
